A Collage of the Blackdown Hills:

An exhibition of art by children of the Blackdown Hills

As part of the Blackdown Hills Natural Futures Project (BHNF) children from ten schools in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) worked with me in a series of art workshops to produce a range of prints inspired by the plants, animals and insects found in 5 specific environments of the area; Marshes and Bogs, Heathland, Woodland, Rivers and Ponds, and Hedgerows.

Ten local primary schools, each school had a half day printmaking workshop looking at one of the environments in depth. Then in 5 additional whole day sessions, we produced large painted and collaged panels, each one representing a different environment, with its associated plants, animals and insects.

Exhibited at the Blackdown Hills Healthy Living Centre, Hemyock from September to December 2017

Project managed by DAISI. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund
